About the event:
At a time when trade deals are particularly pertinent in UK politics, Women’s Budget Group is launching our Trade and Health Briefing.
Join us online for a discussion of Health and Trade with the authors of the briefing;
- Dr Silke Trommer, from the University of Manchester, is a world leading expert on International Political Economy, Global Trade, Development and Social Movements.
- Dr Sophie Harman, from Queen Mary University of London, is a world leading expert on health governance, feminist health research and political economy of health.
We are delighted to also have the SNP’s Deputy International Trade Spokesperson Anum Qaisar MP as a panellist.
Issues of trade, health and gender are fundamentally linked. Women are primarily responsible for care and life-making work in the formal economy and in domestic settings. Join us to discuss how the UK-Japan, UK-Australia and UK-New Zealand Free Trade Agreements affect health systems and food and nutrition, systems which are central to good health and social reproductive conditions for all.

This webinar marks the upcoming publications of our policy paper: Labour market changes for a green, caring economy and Managing risk through security: Social security’s contribution to tackling climate change and gender inequality.
We will look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday 29 June from 13:00-14:30.
